Phoenix Dance Theatre

We’re privileged to have collaborated with the internationally-renowned contemporary dance company Phoenix Dance Theatre over a number of years.

In this time, we’ve created their brand identity and website, alongside the artwork for a number of shows, including Windrush: Movement of the People, the double bill The Rite of Spring & Left Unseen, Black Waters, their 40th Anniversary identity and campaign image (left) and most recently Inside Giovanni’s Room (coming soon).

Yorkshire Dance are committed to supporting dance across the region that is both artistically innovative and challenging; and community focused, open and accessible to all.

In creating their visual identity, we looked to reflect and embrace these two crucial but contrasting sides to their work.

We worked with the team at Yorkshire Dance to rebrand the organisation and produce print material, their new website, building graphics and wayfinding signage, animation and social media assets.

Word on the Street

Commissioned by Bradford 2025, we’re proud to have created Word on the Street as part of Bradford’s successful bid to become UK City of Culture 2025.

A lot gets said about Bradford, but bidding to become City of Culture was about allowing Bradford to tell it’s own story, in it’s own words — using quotes from local poets, school children, residents, writers and rappers, writ (very) large across the city.

Our work for The Federation included brand identity design, website design and a bespoke typeface specifically designed to support the Welsh Language — sadly otherwise unavailable in commercially-available typefaces.

Museums Federation Cymru is the strategic body for museums and art galleries in Wales. The charity supports and advocate for the highest standards of museum provision throughout Wales, for the people of Wales.

Brico

19th April 2024

Brico is a flexible type system created by Split for the People Powered Press. It is used to create large-scale works and murals with community groups, extending the mission of the People Powered Press to amplify voices and spread words worth spreading.

The system was created so that anyone might share in the joy of type design. Using just four shapes, it offers near endless possibilities of letterforms in a different proportions, sizes and styles.
